Jupiter and Venus conjunction August 2016 from Pakistan
Conjunction is an Astronomical phenomenon when the two or more celestial bodies come closer to each other as looked from the Earth in the sky. The planet Jupiter and Venus will come closer to each other and the closest conjunction is on 27th of August, 2016 and it will be visible from Pakistan although the window is too small as they will be too close to the horizon. It also happened last year on 30th June 2015 and it was better than this year’s conjunction.
Jupiter Venus conjunction of 27th August 2016 (Saturday)
Just after sunset, you can witness this beautiful conjunction on the west (just look where the Sun has set)
Why so serious?
The planet conjunction of Venus and Jupiter last year was not just like any conjunction, it was unique. They appeared so close in the sky, that they were easily visible in the field of view (FoV) of a telescope. The views were lovely. You can see photos below.
Conjunction of June 2015
We covered this event and logged it in our collection of planets conjunction here.
If the skies are clear in Karachi, we will definitely try observing this rare phenomenon although the window is too short as both the planets are at around 10 degrees during just when the sun will set.
