A day with the exotic birds and animals in Karachi
Being a nature lover, I love birds and want to keep them as pets but due to my busy schedule I am afraid they will suffer. After watching the Blue Yellow Macaw in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, I wanted to meet the Macaw. One day in DHA, I saw the Macaw in real. Then saw RIO movie in which once again I saw these Macaws including the Green wing Macaw and other parrots. Since then, I wanted to see these birds in real. I was not sure if that would ever be possible in Karachi. One fine day, I found a photo of my friend with Macaw and asked if the Macaw sitting on the shoulder was real. That was just 10 days ago from today (4th Oct 2014) and I found there was a place in Karachi with the name The Wildlife Experience Centre (TWEC) which is an on-ground project of The Wildlife Welfare Society. This amazing place has lots of exotic birds such as Blue Gold Macaw, Green winged Macaw, and other animals such as Pythons, Tortoise, fishes, crocodile, rabbits and peacocks.
Finally the day came on 4th October 2014 when me and my cousins visited TWEC. We were welcomed by Mr. Atif and Osama who guided us throughout the tour. First we were introduced to the Peacocks followed by deer and different types of roasters, turkeys and pigeons.
My friend Hanif Bhatti captured photos of vulture somewhere in interior Sindh, Pakistan. The vulture looked very angry and so Osama didn’t open the cage when I asked him to open it for photograph. The vulture was looking towards us while coming towards us at the cornet of the cage.
